Night Watch in the Everglades — I made this book after a month-long residency in Everglades National Park. Back home, I found myself flashing back to my experiences being in the park as night came on, walking on Anhinga Trail as the sun fell and alligators blended in with the color of the oncoming night. I would also wake up and go outside our apartment in the staff compound. Standing among the slash pines I’d watch the moonlight play through their tall trunks.
